A lot of people do things to relieve stress, fear, and anxiety. Some people drink. Some people work out. Some people over-eat. Some people cut themselves.

"Gave Up Breathing" is my version of cutting. By singing about all the dark compulsions and thoughts, I bleed it out before all the terrible things start to happen in reality.

I tried to wake up every day
With optimism on my face
I push so hard but nothing's ever changed
So I decided to give up breathing.

So I gave up breathing.

French press to keep me up all night
I never sleep. I never have the time.
Everyone else is fine to stand in line
I'm feeling hopeless.
